Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife is busily growing and expanding throughout the western states using a successful grassroots model to protect the basic rights of western sportsmen. SFW is an organization that has already proven that it can get things accomplished. SFW-Idaho, Inc. started in 2003 with a few key Idahoans, all of whom realized something in Idaho needed to be done to improve and protect our hunting and fishing interests. Idaho has now joined with Wyoming, New Mexico, Alaska and Utah as independent SFW corporations, with separate members and chapters.
A Board of Directors guides SFW-Idaho’s activities, policy positions, and staff. The Board members select the current SFW-Idaho officers. SFW-Idaho is a 501(c)3 organization under the IRS and a registered corporation in Idaho. SFW-Idaho is autonomous. Money contributed by sportsmen in Idaho stays in Idaho or is used specifically to benefit Idaho. All allocations are made under the direction of the Board. Finally, the various SFW states have, and will continue, to work together on national issues of importance throughout the West.
SFW continues to use the policy setting arena as a venue to protect our hunting and fishing heritage in Idaho. With sportsmen representatives working on behalf of SFW Idaho members our united voices are able to shape the policies used to manage our treasured wildlife resources.
From the White House to the Idaho Capitol and every place in between, SFW-Idaho is committed to being a part of the input on behalf of Idaho sportsmen.
